Carl “Blue” Wise, Publisher, Writer, Producer, Singer.
Carl began his career as the last employee hired for STAX Records. Working for the STAX publishing arm “East Memphis Music”, Carl managed some of pop’s biggest hits. From “I’m a Soul Man”, “Respect Yourself”, “I’ve Been Lovin’ You Too Long” and worked with some of Pop’s /soul’s greatest writers. Working with these writers is Carl’s foundation for his own writing skills. Carl was shown the writing/producing path by soul/pop’s great heroes and STAX alumni Eddie Floyd and Sir Mack Rice.
When Kenny Rogers recorded one of his biggest hits “I Don’t Need You”, Carl administered and managed the copyright worldwide. It was Carl that supplied the entire Eddie Floyd catalog to Bruce Springsteen, a move that resulted in Bruce recording “Raise Your Hand”. Carl also placed “Woolley Boolley” in the Ron Howard movie “Splash”.
Carl “Blue” Wise has platinum awards for his work in music publishing. From STAX to Kenny Rogers to Memphis Minnie, Carl has provided his expertise in administration and management along with his producing and songwriting skills.
Carl “Blue” Wise has formed Blueboy Records to promote his productions, songs and the art of his son, Jordan Blue Wise.
